RIP George Towndrow a message from Kelvin Alleyne 9th Shakei
October 26, 2016
In the last week, we lost special friend and Kizuna brother George Towndrow. For those who did not know him George was a student of Sensei Terry O’Neil, great friend of Gm Colwell and one of the best photographers in this business. Most of his photos are were in fighting arts magazine.
He was a top martial artist, a loyal friend and was treated by my parents as one of the family. George was bubbly, infectious and loyal to the point. If you needed him he would be there no matter always giving advice where required. He had a special affinity with GM Colwell and they used to talk for hours losing themselves in many subjects. These sessions, no doubt, would have made excellent reading!
George my friend- my brother, it was a privilege to be your friend and I can say all who knew you would say the same.
I and all Kizuna will never forget you brother – may god take care of you on your next journey.
Kelvin and all brothers of Kizuna.
Special Honour awarded to Sensei Alan Howells
October 24, 2016
An honorary Kizuna brotherhood was awarded tonight to Sensei Alan Howells. Sensei Howells was introduced to Sensei McDowell earlier this year during the Forging Seminars.
"I met Alan during class and I am now honoured to call him my friend and Kizuna brother. Alan shows a courage I humbly bow to. When I asked my fellow Knights to honour Alan the vote was unanimous."
Alan holds the spirit all Kizuna aspire to - Alan your brothers salute you.

Museum of Liverpool - BBC Media Coverage

A suit of samurai armour has been installed at the Museum of Liverpool which belonged not to some fearsome ancient warrior, but to a modern day martial arts "legend", who served with the SAS, led an Olympic team, became a karate grandmaster and helped change the city forever.
