MEMORIAL OLD WAYS 2016

This weekend was the 1st ever Memorial Old Ways Seminar since my Dad Ronnie Colwell sadly passed away one year ago today.

The Old Ways Seminar was massively important to him - it was his idea, he taught at them all and even when he was unwell enough to attend the most recent one, he was there to dish out the certificates.

UK martial artists from the age of 7 to 67 came together over both the Saturday and Sunday at The Florrie in Liverpool, to take part in the Ronnie Colwell First ever Memorial Old Ways Seminar.

The kids seminar was taught by Kizuna Knights Sensei Kelvin Alleyne & Sensei Harris Jonas.

The adults seminar was taught by Pete Woodrow McDowell. It was a truly inspiring weekend.
With the help of all of our Kizuna Brothers and their families, we raised a fair few quid.
The money from that day is now supporting the incredible work that the Marie Curie do.

So, to continue this teaching, it was only fitting that one of his original students Sensei Pete Woodrow McDowell taught a private lesson that my Dad had taught him - it's not so private now!

Almost 50 black belts & senior grades attended the adults seminar - from all over the UK - superb effort - thank you!

And, in the true spirit of KIZUNA, there were representatives from many many different styles of martial arts - not just Shotokan Karate - it was a proud moment to see so many different associations represented.

Thank you to all. You have made my Dad proud - and me too.

Andrew Colwell

Chairman,
